Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, India (CBEC) has published a Circular in Feb 2020 clarifying role of Appendix 5 registered Pre Shipment Inspection Agencies (PSIA) as empaneled by Director General ofForeign Trade (DGFT). As per the Circular, these agencies are empaneled to carry out Inspection of Scrap and though the same agencies were authorized to carry out valuation activities, effective immediately, only a Chartered Engineer or an equivalent in country of origin can do so. Ravi Energie has empaneled / qualified personnel’s in all the major countries and we can carry out the CE Certification activity as per this new circular at place of origin. In an event such a Chartered Engineer’s Certification is not done at Origin, we also have CE’s at various ports in India who can carry out the Valuation at Destination.
