Bio Mass Based Power Generation is an equally potential renewable energy sector wherever the biomass availability is easier. The project can be Biomass Gasification based Power Generation or Biogas Generation for Heating/ Other Applications or Steam based Power Generation using Biomass as fuel.
We provide services related to Bio Mass Assessment Studies, Strengthening of Supply Chain, DPR and Infrastructure for Power Evacuation, Inspection & Quality Control for the Equipments, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Performance Evaluation of the installed sites and other related issues. To our credit, we have many Biomass Assessment Studies conducted for Government in India and many Project Implementations for Co-operative Societies and Industries. Ravi Energie has to its credit verification and certification reports for bio mass for the purpose of checking sustainability/validation purposes for CDM benefits.
Normal scopes for Biomass Assessment Studies include:
Physical Features of Area – includes population area, literacy, land usage pattern, forest, waste land, etc.
Electrification Status – includes No. of villages electrified, irrigation pump sets, electricity consumption in domestic, agriculture and industrial sector, overall situation, etc.
Biomass – covers agriculture in the area irrigated and rain fed area, agricultural production, yield, crop wise production of residues, present use and surplus, forest, waste land yield, cropping pattern, possible changes in cropping pattern, etc. and characteristics of different available biomass resources.
Agro Industrial Waste – includes different agro industries and waste available from them, their quantity and characteristics, etc.
Availability of Biomass Requirement – covers biomass demand and supply, consumption pattern and surplus biomass available in area.
Technology and Biomass Requirement - For Power Generation - describes the technology for 10MW power generation system, quantity of biomass required, biomass collection & management system and likely location of power plant.
Socio-Economic Impact – in this part socio – economic impact, environmental Impact and other impacts by large scale biomass power generation are covered.
Estimation of future Energy Demand – for next 5 and 10 years, energy demand has to be estimated for all the sectors in the area.
Surplus Biomass - surplus Biomass identified should be highlighted category wise such as woody biomass, leafy biomass, stalks, fines, etc. available because technological options may not be compatible to all types of biomass available. The need for of surplus seasonal availability of biomass in particular area and their price sensitivity which will help the promoters willing to set up power plants.
The study reveals the sustainability which is a major concern for CDM benefits. To refer to one of our reports (which is also available on other respective UNFCCC web sites) please click here
